I have a new-found respect for jewelers.
That business is difficult.
I, ever over-caffeinated, have some fairly shaky hands. I am not really built for surgery, close-up magic or particularly fiddly crafts.
Last weekend, boyfriend and I had a red-hot go at making jewellery out of silver.
I’m not very good at it.
It’s really quite tricky, and it made me swear a lot.
I don’t have the audacity to think about producing a tutorial on the subject at this early stage of experimentation.
Let’s call it a tragic photo essay depicting a solid crafter-noon.
We made little shapes out of Fimo clay.
I chose a little diamond shape, because that was about all my skill-set allowed.
Next, you take the shape and jam it into a fillet of cuttlefish, of all things.
Then, we scratched out a big ol’ funnel-shaped hole in the cuttlefish…
And then, we zip-tied the bits of cuttlefish together.
